So you’ve decided that you need to feel brighter & blonder for summer. You make the appointment to get that gorgeous color of your dreams!… But will your investment last?

Hair color will always shift with the elements, but here’s how you can protect your investment & make it LAST!

Part 1: WASHING

  1. Use our stylist recommended, nourishing, & color preserving products to cleanse your hair. They’re low tox & won’t strip your color.

  2. Use a shower head filter to reduce mineral deposits, that result in unwanted yellowing.

  3. Don’t wash daily. Use a good dry shampoo to extend your wash. We love POWDER by Hairstory

  4. Use a cooler water temperature for your hair. Yes, we know it sucks, but if you want to keep that cool tone longer. It matters a lot!

PART 2: TREATING

  1. Treat your mids & ends with a nourishing conditioner. We especially love InCommon’s Treatment line! It’s like a rejuvenating facial for your hair!

  2. Feeling too gold? Use Hard water treatments to brighten & help remove mineral deposits. I addition to a good shower head filter. Malibu has some great options to remove minerals & brighten your blonde! You can find it all here. (You don’t always need purple shampoo

  3. Book a professional gloss treatment with your hair stylist 4-6 weeks after your lightening session. Let’s face it, color will always fade no matter how cold we wash. Book your salon refresh sesh & stay vibrant!

PART 3: STYLING

  1. Use a leave-in conditioner with heat protectant! We are OBSESSED with In Common’s Magic Myst! It’s a 5 in 1 product that will be a staple on your shelf!

  2. Brush your hair with a soft paddle brush

like WetBrush. Starting at the ends, then

working up. Please don’t tear up all your strands like when you start at the top! Start low & go slow! Your strands will thank you for not breaking them!

  3. Turn your heat down below 375°. You’re styling hair, not cooking a pizza. If you’re on the fine-fragile side use a low 320°, if you’re a medium-coarse use around 360°
